"During the early years of my life it was very difficult, the high school days became just that the high, high, high, school days if you get my drift. I became intangled with the streets that caused me to lose sight of my entire life, a downward spiral what a drag. After I began to look at all the family members that I let down, including myself, there was'nt no one that I could turn to but a loving God, who loved until I could love myself. My life began really taking shape when Mr. Henry English, and the rest of the Black United Fund of Illinois family gave me a chance to do something really meaningful to my life, and that was to take a stake in the community. Now I can really take pride in my work, myself, and my family members are in my corner in such a way that it only help me to move forward with my life. Most of all I am making a difference in other peoples' lives as well."
